Jules Jacques Benois "J.B." Benedict was born in Chicago, Ill. on April 22, 1879. He grew up under comfortable circumstances and joined the Chicago based architectural firm of Frost & Granger in 1899. In 1903, Benedict traveled to Paris, France where he attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts School of Architecture. He returned to New York City, N.Y. in 1906 where he worked with the firm of CarreĢre and Hastings on the construction of the New York Public Library before moving to Denver, Colo. in 1...
