The collection contains architectural plans for buildings created by Benedict in Denver, Colo.: Central National Bank Building (1910-1911); Roger W. Woodbury Branch Library (1913); George Cranmer residence (1916); J.C. Kerr residence (1924); Richard Crawford Campbell residence (1924); and in Colo. Springs, Colo.: Harold Ingersoll residence (1929). Addition items include eight lithographic prints created by Benedict (1918, 1924, 1926, 1927, 1929, 1930, 1931, 1932), and copies of poems written by June Brown Benedict (1918-1930).

Jules Jacques Benois "J.B." Benedict was born in Chicago, Ill. on April 22, 1879. He grew up under comfortable circumstances and joined the Chicago based architectural firm of Frost & Granger in 1899. In 1903, Benedict traveled to Paris, France where he attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts School of Architecture. He returned to New York City, N.Y. in 1906 where he worked with the firm of CarreĢre and Hastings on the construction of the New York Public Library before moving to Denver, Colo. in 1...
